Option 1 - Abel Tasman Elegance

3 or 4 Day Elegant Walk with Hotel Style Accommodation

Includes all food except dinner at Awaroa Lodge, water taxi connections, bag transfers, and hotel transfers ex. Nelson, Motueka or Marahau.

This is the more DIY (do-it-yourself) approach to your personal discovery of the Abel Tasman National Park. You will get detailed trip notes, including tide times and advice as what to take and when to walk etc.

South to North

Walking begins in Marahau and we walk to Anchorage on Day 1.

Day 2 - walking from Anchorage/Torrent Bay to Awaroa Inlet and Lodge.

Day 3 - from Awaroa to Totaranui and return to Marahau by water taxi.

North to South

Begins with a water taxi shuttle to Totaranui and then walking to Awaroa inlet and Lodge on Day 1

Day 2 - walking from Awaroa Lodge to Anchorage/Torrent Bay

Day 3 - from Anchorage/Torrent Bay to Marahau.

At Awaroa

Awaroa Lodge – perhaps the most elegant place to stay in the Abel Tasman area – it is in a truly divine setting and minutes away is the most perfect beach – Awaroa Bay. It combines a casual elegance with beach wear being the easy going theme. We stay in well appointed hotel rooms with ensuites and you dine in their wonderful restaurant.

Option 2 - Backpack The Track

3 or 4 Day Backpacker Walk

Includes pickup from Nelson, Motueka or Marahau as well as all DOC hut fees, water taxi connections.

This itinerary stays in the DOC (Department of Conservation) huts along the way (communal bunkhouse accommodation). You need to carry your own food, sleeping bag and cooking facilities. The DOC huts are located at Anchorage, Bark Bay & Awaroa

These walks can be done in either direction:

South to North

Stay at the DOC huts at Anchorage – Bark Bay – Awaroa

North to South

Stay at the DOC Huts at Awaroa – Bark Bay - Anchorage

These are for more independent hikers, who wish to walk the track at their own pace yet with certain arrangements made. The following offer options - some with hotel or sailboat accommodations, partially catered and with bag transfers. You only need carry a backpack!

Others in DOC (Department of Conservation) huts (communal bunkhouses) require walkers to carry their own gear, with certain elements like accommodation & transportation pre arranged.
