Being a National Park the public accommodation options in the Abel Tasman National Park are somewhat limited.
The two areas that accommodation has formed around is the Anchorage and Torrent Bay area and the south side of the Awaroa Inlet. In Anchorage there are boats that offer accommodation.
A wide range of accommodation has also developed outside the park at Marahau where the Abel Tasman Coastal Track begins.
There are plentiful campsites along the way, some with water access only, and the Department of Conservation has huts (bunk houses) at Anchorage, Bark Bay & Awaroa. These require advance bookings and those using these facilities have to carry all food, cooking gear, clothes and sleeping bags.
With this in mind the Abel Tasman Track offers two levels of accommodations - very good or more budget with not a huge range in between.
